Construction company plans to build a $1.5 billion apron on the north side of the Memorial in honor of President Abraham Lincoln.
The apron will be a centerpiece of the memorial, which will be unveiled at the dedication on Jan. 10.
The Lincoln Memorial has long been one of the nation’s most iconic landmarks, but the apron is expected to be one of its most prominent features.
Construction company,Boyd Construction Company, plans to finish the construction of the Lincoln Memorial on Jan 10, 2019.
The memorial will feature a granite arched pavilion with a granite base, bronze arch and two bronze statues.
The statue of Lincoln will be located at the south side of this pavilion.
The pavilion will feature the Lincoln Monument, a bronze monument to Abraham Lincoln, engraved with the words, “To every man who died for the Union.”
The pavillion will be made of reinforced concrete, reinforced wood, steel and fiberglass.
The Memorial will feature granite pillars with a stone base and a bronze sculpture of Lincoln and his family.
The Lincoln Memorial will be built at the corner of State Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in downtown Lincoln.
The memorial was named after President Abraham Wilson, who is credited with creating the Union army and leading it through the Civil War.
Lincoln was the first president to visit the United States and to hold a State of the Union address at the Lincoln memorial.
