Curtis, the largest construction company in the U.S., said it has announced plans to open an assembly plant in Florida.
The company said it will invest $10 million in a new plant that will manufacture parts for the company’s main line of construction equipment.
“The new facility will help us grow our workforce and meet the growing demand for Curtis equipment across our supply chain,” said Scott Cacciola, Curtis CEO.
“We have the technology, the people and the capital to make this happen.”
The company has about 2,000 workers in the state.
The announcement comes as Curtis is looking to expand production of its main line and plans to hire more people as it expands.
In May, the company said the expansion was part of its effort to boost revenue.
In July, the government of Florida ordered the company to expand and hire at least 50 more workers.
