– A new company has been added to the development team of Carter Construction, the owner of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers.
The signing comes on the heels of a $30 million deal between Carter and the Oilers to build a new arena.
The company is led by John Carter, a former NHL hockey player who has been involved in building arenas in Anaheim, Los Angeles, Columbus, New York and Washington.
The agreement is an indication that Carter is making progress in the construction of a new rink at the site of the former Coliseum in downtown Tulsa.
The NHL has been working with Carter on a plan to build an outdoor rink at that site.
In addition to the arena, the new facility will include a hotel, parking garage, a concert venue and an office building.
The Oilers announced plans last year to build the new arena at the Coliseum site.
