Building a skyscraper isn’t easy, but it’s far from impossible, according to a new video from one of Maui’s most renowned construction companies.
The video, posted to YouTube by the Maui Building Co., shows how a contractor can construct a 1,000-foot tall, concrete-framed, four-story building in just six hours.
The contractor, who goes by “Ki” in the video, said the video was produced as part of the Mauis’ annual building contest, the Mauiali Building Challenge, which takes place every year.
“This is our year to show our community that building is a rewarding career,” Ki said in the YouTube video.
“It’s the best of both worlds.”
The Maui building challenge is held every year in the village of Waipahu.
The contest is open to Maui residents, and Ki was chosen to win the competition because he had previously won a similar contest at the age of 14.
Ki said he wanted to give the challenge a unique twist, so he used a few of his own construction ideas, including a modular building that could be built with any combination of materials.
The result is a building that is a work of art.
Kii said he was inspired to make a skyscraping skyscraper by his wife, whom he met during the construction of his home.
“It was the coolest thing I’d ever done, so I started building my own,” Ki told Engadgets.
“When I got home, I just had to do it.
It was the first thing I did.”
Ki and his wife have been building their own buildings since they were teenagers, and they built two of their own homes.
He said he has built more than a dozen houses and apartments.
“I build houses and apartment buildings all around the world, so this was my dream to build my own house,” Ki wrote in his video.
