When it was announced that his dad had cancer, Seth’s son, Evan, cried.
“I was really upset,” Evan said in an interview.
“I really felt like I was going to die, that I wasn’t going to be able to get through the day.”
The 43-year-old actor, who is also known for his roles in “The Big Lebowski” and “The Secret Life of Pets,” has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
He has been battling it for two years and was recently told that his prognosis is not good.
“My dad’s cancer has been a constant issue and he hasn’t gotten through it,” he said.
“The fact that it’s cancer-free and that it hasn’t spread is amazing.
It’s been a great blessing for him.”
The cancer has affected his life and the family.
“Seth’s been dealing with a lot of different things,” Evan’s father, Seth, told the New York Daily News.
“But my son has always been a fighter.
He’s a fighter.”
He added that his son has been going through chemo treatments, which is a common treatment for stage 4 cancer.
“It’s been extremely tough for him,” he explained.
“He’s been through a lot, but he’s a really strong person.
He really is.”
The actor is now looking to raise money for the cancer-fighting treatments that his father is currently receiving.
“He has always had a lot more than a little bit of energy in him,” Evan explained.
“Every time you hear the word cancer, it reminds you of Seth, that he’s been battling this for so long.”
The family is planning to hold a fundraiser at the house in the New Jersey suburb of Princeton on April 26.
Evan said he plans to bring a donation box filled with gifts to the event.
“We’re going to have a lot to share and a lot in common,” he added.
